Mark L. Barry brings to client engagements a diverse 25 years of advisory, management consulting, and operator experience. A strategic business advisor to CEOs and Owners, Mark has delivered successfully in several arenas, including online retail, manufacturing, technology, legal, non-profit, healthcare, financial services, automotive, trade associations and media. He oversees Lodestar's efforts in the areas of strategy, operational improvement, mergers and acquisitions development, risk management and leadership development.
Previously, Mark was a Consulting Principal at MDT Tek, LLC where he led the company’s IT Financial Management & Controls practice. Consulting extensively in the Fortune 15, he developed financial controls processes and provided expertise in the areas of financial recovery, budget turnaround, vendor management, and resource forecasting. Mark also served as Consulting Partner at CSL, Inc. (acquired by MDT), providing finance professional services to the healthcare industry. Earlier in his career, Mark delivered complex and high-risk IT security and transformation programs in the retail pharmacy and medical clinic spaces and held senior management positions (business, editorial board) with several leading print and digital media companies, including the Philadelphia Inquirer and Philadelphia Daily News. Mark is also Co-founder of FieldOwler, LLC, a software company that provides businesses utilizing independent contractors with the tools to make informed and holistic worker classification decisions. He is the author of Ten Guidelines for Making Our Leaner Team a Meaner One, a leader-building guidebook, and The Shiny Penny, a children's picture book that provides financial literacy to children in Pre-K through Grade 2. A graduate of the UConn School of Business, Mark received a MA in Economics from Trinity College and later studied Entrepreneurship at the London School of Economics.
